我们时不时会寻找一些物件，除了looking for，找东西还可以怎么说呢？

1. root around

1. 翻找，翻寻

root的本意是根；根源，作动词表达翻找，翻寻，这个短语尤指在其他物品中寻找，搜寻。

She rooted through/among the papers on her desk.

她在桌上的文件中翻来翻去地找东西。

2. 搜索；翻找

poke主要指用手指、工具或器具去“戳，刺，捅”，如果你想说“扎心了，老铁”，就可以来一句You poked my heart！
