容易出错的英语，不见得是专业的句子，很多时候反而是一些日常生活用语，由于平时旁人没有特别纠正，也就一错再错而不自知。以下五个例句都是去餐厅用餐时的基本会话，看看你是否都说对了呢？
1. Hi, I’d like it to take home.
嗨，我想要外带。

1. I’d like it to go.
解释：餐点“外带”的英文若说成take home，就是标准的中式英文，正确用语是to go ，“堂食”则是for here 。柜台点餐时店员会问你For here or to go?
2. Could I have the sauce on the side?
解释：错误句的意思是把酱料“从面包上舀起来”再放到旁边，而我们想表达的是请店员“事先”把酱料摆在一旁，要用on the side表示，有时菜单上会出现side order，意思是加点的配菜，和on the side其实是一个道理。
3. Do you want a bite of my meal?
解释：想请别人试吃一口自己的餐点用taste是不对的，taste是要看有没有太甜、太咸等等。若用get a taste of意指你会对那个事物有所经验或了解，如My friend used a parachute and got a taste of what it’s like to be a bird.我朋友借着玩降落伞体验到当一只鸟的感觉。用a bite of才是分一点去吃的意思。
4. Waiter: How do you like your steak?
Billy: I’d like it medium.
解释：中文的“五分熟”，若直译成半熟half done，就算外籍服务生猜懂了，也是不道地的说法。正确的用词是medium。
5. I’d like a refill, please.
解释：在饮料可以免费续杯的餐厅用I’d like a refill这句话就可以表达想再要一杯饮料的意思，不用强调free （免费的）。
