一、hate 及物动词、名词。意思是“讨厌、恨、不愿意、仇恨情绪”。泛指仇恨、憎恨、厌恶。作动词跟名词、代词、不定式、动名词、复合结构、从句。

Plastic flowers have always been a particular hate of mine.我一向特别厌恶塑料花。（名词）

She hates fish and never eats any. 她讨厌鱼而且从来不吃。

Mother hated to move from such a nice neighbourhood.母亲不愿意从这么好的邻居那里搬走。

He hated being laughed at. 他讨厌被人嘲笑。

Our teacher hates us to call him that. 老师不喜欢我们那样叫他。

二、hatred 名词。意思是“仇恨、憎恶”。指对人或事物的强烈仇恨、憎恨。例如：

Her deep hatred of her sister was obvious.一眼便能看出她对姐姐恨之入骨。

He looked at me with intense hatred. 他满怀敌意地看着我。

She is full of hatred for the driver who killed her child. 她对压死她孩子的那个司机充满了仇恨。
